For the eastern North Pacific, east of 140 degrees west longitude:

No tropical cyclones formed in the eastern Pacific basin in the 
month of May.  Based on a 30-year climatology (1991-2020), one 
named storm forms in May every other year, with a hurricane forming 
about once every four years.
